More about me:

Life can be filled with challenges that test our strength, relationships, and sense of self. I believe it’s possible to find purpose and peace in every season of life, from birth to 105. Your identity is not defined solely by your experiences. Each person has a greater, beautiful identity worthy of exploration and honor. It is okay not to feel okay, and sometimes we need extra encouragement to explore our story in a therapeutic space.  I am deeply grateful for the trust shared in this sacred work and strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment guided by faith and hope.

I bring over 30 years of diverse professional experience in education, training, and ministry work with individuals and families. I completed my Master of Arts in Counseling through the Townsend Institute at Concordia University Irvine. I have extensive training in trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy (TF-CBT). I also hold a Master of Arts in Education and a Bachelor of Science in Family and Child Development, both from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. I’ve learned the most through raising my own three children over the past 21 years and being married for 28 years. Most recently, I served as a clinician at the Children’s Advocacy Center for North Texas, which deepened my passion for helping individuals and families heal from trauma and build resilience through evidence-based care.

Did I mention how much I adore working with people of all ages and stages? Every individual is unique and deserving of the opportunity to reach their full potential! I enjoy supporting children through developmentally appropriate, play-informed counseling that helps them grow in confidence and connection. Supporting parents, marriages, and families is equally important, whether walking them through difficult circumstances with a trauma-informed lens or building tools to navigate the everyday challenges of human development.

When working with individuals of any age, I take the time to understand my clients, their family systems, needs, and goals well. I am rooted in a person-centered, narrative approach, believing that your story is the foundation for meaningful therapeutic work. Together, we will collaborate to tailor a treatment plan that is unique and individualized, honors your life story, fosters resilience, supports growth, change, and well-being. It would be my greatest honor to facilitate faith-based treatment planning if that is your wish.

When I am not at my dream job, I enjoy spending time with my husband and family on outdoor adventures. You may also find me in the garden, on a long walk, practicing the cello, crafting, reading & writing, experimenting with new recipes, dancing, trying to play pickleball and golf, or enjoying teatime.  I care deeply about God’s people and have had a lifelong passion for serving in my local church, which remains a top priority- especially in children’s ministry and women’s discipleship.

It is a great joy and privilege to walk alongside you as you become more aware of your value and purpose, overcome life’s challenges, and discover new possibilities for growth. I deeply respect the trust placed in me and strive to give excellent care while creating a compassionate, collaborative space for healing and change.  Together, we will navigate how your extraordinary life is woven into God’s greater story.
