More about me:
Life can be filled with challenges that test our strength, relationships, and sense of self. I believe it’s possible to find purpose and peace in every season of life, from birth to 105. Your identity is not defined solely by your experiences. Each person has a greater, beautiful identity worthy of exploration and honor. It is okay not to feel okay, and sometimes we need extra encouragement to explore our story in a therapeutic space.
I am deeply grateful for the trust shared in this sacred work and strive to create a safe, supportive environment where you can begin to process, heal, and move forward.
What It’s Like Working With Me
Did I mention how much I adore working with people of all ages and stages? Every individual is unique and deserving of the opportunity to reach their full potential!
Whether you are navigating grief, feeling overwhelmed as a parent, working through challenges in your relationship, or trying to better understand your own story, our work together will focus on gaining clarity and identifying practical next steps.
We will identify both immediate needs and long-term goals, creating a path forward that feels manageable while still leading to real growth. My role is to walk alongside you while helping you build insight and tools to move forward. How I Support My Clients
When working with individuals of any age, I take the time to understand my clients, their family systems, needs, and goals well. I am rooted in a person-centered, narrative approach, believing that your story is the foundation for meaningful therapeutic work. I also integrate evidence-based approaches, including trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy (TF-CBT), along with relational and developmental methods tailored to each client.
My work focuses on helping individuals and families experience healing, restoration, and renewed direction in the areas that matter most.
I work with women in all seasons of life to help restore balance, clarity, and a renewed sense of purpose. This often includes support for emotional health, stress, identity, relationships, and personal growth—especially during times of burnout, life transitions, grief, or feeling stuck. My goal is to create a space where women can heal, rebuild, and move forward with greater confidence and direction.
I also walk with individuals and families through grief and loss, creating space to process pain while moving toward healing and restoration.
For those who have experienced trauma—both children and adults—I help process past experiences and reduce the ongoing impact on daily life, relationships, and sense of self.
In my work with couples, I provide support in both marriage restoration and pre-marital counseling, helping strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and develop healthier ways of connecting.
For parents, I offer practical, positive parenting support—helping you respond to behavior, strengthen connection, and create a more consistent home environment.
With children and teens, I help build emotional awareness, confidence, and healthier ways to express what they’re feeling—especially when they don’t yet have the words to express what they’re experiencing. I use developmentally appropriate, play-informed counseling and incorporate art therapy and sand tray therapy at times to support young people as they grow in both confidence and connection.
For clients who desire it, I also offer faith-based counseling, integrating a biblical worldview in a way that supports both emotional and spiritual growth.
My Background & Experience
I bring over 30 years of experience in education, training, counseling, and ministry work with individuals and families. This background shapes how I approach counseling—seeing the whole person and walking with them through both challenges and growth.
I completed my Master of Arts in Counseling through the Townsend Institute at Concordia University Irvine and have extensive training in trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy (TF-CBT), an evidence-based approach for helping children, teens, and families process and heal from trauma.
I also hold a Master of Arts in Education and a Bachelor of Science in Family and Child Development from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, which continue to inform my work with children and families.
Most recently, I served as a clinician at the Children’s Advocacy Center for North Texas, working closely with individuals and families navigating trauma. During this time, I further honed my play therapy skills, strengthening my ability to help children process difficult experiences in safe and developmentally appropriate ways. I also enjoyed working within a group therapy setting, where clients could experience connection, support, and shared growth. This experience strengthened my passion for helping clients build resilience and move toward healing through thoughtful, evidence-based care.
I have experience working with children, families, and individuals navigating trauma within both individual and group therapy settings.
A Little More About Me
When I am not at my dream job, I enjoy spending time with my husband and family—especially on outdoor adventures. Raising my three children over the past 21 years and being married for 28 years has been one of the most meaningful parts of my life and has shaped the way I connect with and support others.
You may also find me in the garden, on a long walk, practicing the cello, crafting, reading and writing, experimenting with new recipes, dancing, trying to play pickleball and golf, or enjoying teatime.
I care deeply about God’s people and have had a lifelong passion for serving in my local church, which remains a top priority—especially in children’s ministry and women’s discipleship.
It is a great joy and privilege to walk alongside you as you become more aware of your value and purpose, overcome life’s challenges, and discover new possibilities for growth. I deeply respect the trust placed in me and strive to give excellent care while creating a compassionate, collaborative space for healing and change. Together, we will navigate how your extraordinary life is woven into God’s greater story.
