More about me:

When the people you love most feel distant, angry, or unsafe, it can shake your whole world. Maybe you and your partner keep having the same painful arguments, you are trying to recover after an affair, or you are walking on eggshells around someone’s temper. You might worry about what your children are learning from the way conflict and emotions are handled at home.

If you feel stuck in cycles of hurt, mistrust, or emotional disconnection, this is not a sign that you are broken as a family. It is often a sign of unhealed trauma, learned patterns, and a nervous system trying to protect you. My role is to help you understand what is happening beneath the surface so you can move from survival mode into relationships marked by safety, respect, and genuine connection.

My Approach

My Specialties Include:

Anxiety & Depression,
Trauma & PTSD,
Domestic Violence,
Infidelity,
Parenting & Family Issues,
Couples & Marriage Issues

At Harvest Counseling & Wellness, I believe healing happens in the context of secure, emotionally responsive relationships. As a Hispanic and bilingual Spanish/English Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, I pay close attention to the whole family system—individual stories, cultural context, faith, and generational patterns.

In our work together, we slow things down and make space for each person’s emotions and needs. I use emotionally focused and attachment-based approaches to help couples and families understand what is driving their reactions, so they can respond with empathy instead of blame. We will work on practical tools for communication and boundaries, while also addressing the deeper wounds that keep conversations stuck.

I draw from a range of evidence-based methods, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I am a Certified Domestic Violence Counselor and am also trained in the AIM-HI Intervention for children ages 5–13 with Autism Spectrum Disorder to help decrease challenging behaviors in a family-centered way.

Specialized Focus and Clinical Methods

Depending on your goals, I may integrate:

  • Couple & Family Work: Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman-informed practices, and family systems approaches to rebuild trust, safety, and connection.

  • Trauma & Safety Work: Trauma-informed care, TF-CBT, and domestic-violence–specific interventions focusing on safety planning, boundaries, and recovery from abusive patterns.

  • Behavioral & Cognitive Tools: CBT and DBT skills to shift unhelpful thoughts, manage big emotions, and reduce reactivity in relationships.

  • Solution & Story Work: Solution-Focused and Narrative Therapy to help you rewrite unhelpful family stories and focus on what is possible going forward.

Our work is paced according to your readiness. We honor your faith, culture, and values as we decide together what healing looks like for your family.

Faith, Culture, and Community

My Christian faith is central to who I am, and I welcome integrating prayer and Scripture for clients who desire that. I have served my church community for more than 17 years, facilitating women’s small groups and providing premarital and marital counseling. I have also enjoyed leading parenting workshops and hosting speakers to equip parents with practical, faith-informed tools to strengthen their homes.

Growing up in Mexico and later moving to San Diego, California, where I completed my studies, has given me a bicultural perspective that deeply informs my work. I understand the unique challenges Hispanic and multicultural families face—such as differing expectations across generations, language barriers, and the tension between traditional values and new environments. In therapy, your culture and faith are seen as strengths, not barriers.

Background

I received my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University. I have had the privilege of working with couples, children, youth, individuals, and families across a variety of settings.

I have been married for 16 years, and I love making memories with my husband and our son, who are my greatest blessing and priority. As a family, we enjoy traveling, bike riding, being outdoors, and trying new food. These experiences continually remind me that healthy relationships are not about perfection, but about repair, grace, and choosing one another again and again.

Personal Note to You

Every family I work with is more than a “case.” You represent a generation—and possibly many future generations. My commitment is to help you transform, restore, and be equipped to build healthier, more connected relationships that can change your family story.

If you are struggling in your marriage, feeling unsafe or unseen at home, or carrying the weight of trauma and broken trust, you do not have to walk through it alone. I would be honored to walk with you as you seek healing, safety, and renewed connection.

Trauma, hardship, and broken relationships can feel like mountains, but together we can begin to turn those hills into chaff.

“See, I will make you into a threshing sledge, new and sharp, with many teeth. You will thresh the mountains and crush them, and reduce the hills to chaff. But you will rejoice in the LORD.” —Isaiah 41:15
